dewank 4 Report post Posted November 26, 2012 My Optra Magnum turned 5 months old recently. I was thinking of upgrading the ICE of my car. Should I wait for the warranty period to expire or go for the upgrade now? 3 gapezipse, oasisloverjohn and peagergegot reacted to this
BHP-junkie 2 Report post Posted November 26, 2012 Hello dewank, don't take any risk of voiding your warranty unless you can jeopardise loosing the hump in your pocket. These company guys will not repair any electronic faults (if any in the near future) if you go with the ICE upgrade that invloves cutting of wires and modification, they will just say "warranty khatam hai". neerajd 7 Report post Posted November 26, 2012 I think this car comes with the 3 yrs Chevy promise, correct? In that case, do check with the service center what all is covered under the 3 yrs promise and if electricals are a part of those, you may have to think twice before you change anything in your car. dewank 4 Report post Posted November 26, 2012 Thanks for your input. I have not opted for the 3 years chevy promise. Will the warranty be void if I only go for Speakers upgrade on the original wiring?
BHP-junkie 2 Report post Posted November 27, 2012 No, you can change the speakers with the original wiring (excluding amp or woofer- coz that will need some wire cutting)
CarCrazyASTL 16 Report post Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) Thanks for your input. I have not opted for the 3 years chevy promise. Will the warranty be void if I only go for Speakers upgrade on the original wiring? yes it'll! as electrical modification is done while soldring new speakers (from manufacturer's POV) & it takes very little to void the warrenty! so wait untill your warrenty expires! Sstar 77 Report post Posted November 27, 2012 yes...any electrical wiring alteration/modification Or electronic item replaced in the car within the warranty period...will void the car's warranty.
