Sstar
Thanks Calling it a War horse majorly because the car is a daily commute & has to daily go through the grind like bad roads, inter city traveling, not driven by single person (driver/dad/mom/me) & still the Scala performs like new Excellent..! F30
Hey , Don't take your chances there , have it replaced any how . Is there a Nissan given guidelines in written available to customers with a detailed vin no? Guys the brake master cylinder has been replaced. My observations; As you all know that this car is 90% chauffeur driven, my driver has said that there is only a slight improvement in braking, to quantify may be about 5% But when i drove the car i did not find any noticeable gain in braking power/ stopping distance. This recall IMO is to avoid failure of the same part as not much improvement has been felt so far Thanks for your concern
rssh
Good to see that your car got the replaced master cylinder , the govt. should have a mandatory recall procedure for OEMs were they should advertize in print, new and websites about the recall and not wait for customer to imagine about a recall. Since this is your beater car check the brake pads at 20k kms, and changing them early is a safer option since you do inter-city travel also I test drove the Sunny 3 times and I am really not confident about the brake bite (same with Micra). librankur
was it your initiative or the companies ? Its understandable that no changes were felt after the change coz yours was not affected yet. Today again, theres news of another RECALL from Nissan this time in its SUVs , something to do with a faulty brake-control software that may increase the risk of a crash. The car is approaching 28k kms now & the brake pads look to be OK so far. However @ 30k service shall get them checked was it your initiative or the companies ? Initially they said my car wasnt a part of the recall list, but however when i had taken the car for 20k service they agreed to replace the same considering the list got updated, LoL So in a way it was my initiative more than the companies. The best would be to give your cars VIN no. to the Nissan service center & be present yourself to spot your VIN no. in the recall list. If it is not in the list, then may be it isnt faulty.
