Ajit car crazy
hajo guys, its been a long time i'm talking here.well, finally I've bought a suv, booked it on my birthday 28th May,finance and paperworks are done. Usually finances are handled by my dad. He told me its almost ready, we paid our 20.5 lacs, the rest amount the financer pay will pay by 2mrw or soon I guess. Well,I never even thought of this car when I walked to Audi Kolkata. They instantly made me comfy there and my dad after test driving at the very moment decided to get the Q7 without thinking. Also he gifted me that car on my bday. It is the top end cbu unit Navi pack+sunroof. Audi Kolkata has a special thing with us so me managed some huge discounts too. Now the queries. Hope to get the delivery within next month. 1. I heard somewhere Q7 had headlamp issues. They were insufficient for car this big. Dealer told me its sorted out and now the facelifted unit comes with adaptive headlamp. Is it so? 2. Is there any reliability issue? 3. What is top speed possible by this car? Spec sheet says 218kmph,but my friend in bombay drove it upto 230 almost. What is the exact thing?

Ajit car crazy
oh, thanks. Really I'm waiting to drive it. But ya I'm really tensed about the headlamps. There may be faults when in use,but when new then in manufacturing if there is problem. I'm just thinking it..the new models are really not having these problems i hope. Pls help
rssh
AFAIK the problem with the headlamps was a dull spot in the middle lens . Also there were issues with fogging inside the headlamp but these issues can happen to any vehicle . Which engine option did you opt for the 3.0 or 4.2 TDi ? Also active adaptive headlamp switch their lighting direction when turning the car (these features are standard on segments below) . Also don't try the top speed on Mumbai roads because the tyres if hit a pothole at higher speeds will lead to bubbles on the sidewall . Reliability is a thing which depends on premium cars , mechanically the cars is very reliable but due to so many features some tend to fail after a couple of years . Also I recommend extended warrenty and 0 dep insurance for your vehicle.

Ajit car crazy
@rssh,well. I'm getting it from audi kolkata. I got the bumper2bumper extended warranty cuz I live in a rural place where roads aren't good. Headlamps shouldn't be a thing to worry but I read it,so post it here to know. I got a bimmer e90 3er' highline in 2009 & she alreay did 68k km. Still now only mechanical problems no feature failure. Also i heard air suspension can be a problem in India after few years,is it so? Anyway, I had 2 get the 3.0 cuz I was in hurry and no 4.2 in stock, it would take more than 8 months 2 deliver me. So, choosed the 3.0 tdi. I drove it on ajc bose road and ultodanaga flyover, I did love the big presence of it on the road, its still rare and butchy premium in WB,So it turns heads too. Anyway, loved 3.0 with no lack of power. @F30, I'm not sure of it. Pls guys, keep updating me and help me

Answers to your queries: 1. I haven't heard about such thing. 2. No, again never heard such thing. Reliability is most of about how you keep your vehicle. When maintained properly, a failed product performs even better than successful one. 3. Speedo error, nothing else.
Ajit car crazy
@dr_nishu, thnx a lot. Well headlamps are something I really need to be serious on as I drive extensively at night and also in foggy situations. I know the exact use of the fog lamps. They literally don't let u see whats ahead in dense fog(my driving condition has lot of it) but it help others to see u. This is the reason I didn't buy Jaguar as it comes with no proper fog lamps. Also in the Q7 I'm getting lights should be first class. So, I'm worried. But the review where I read it was an old 1, now may be it is sorted out. Yeah, I love maintaining cars with utmost care. I have a 1997 Hyundai Santro, my first car. It has done 7 lac kms and still running well. My ritz done 42k km, Superb 33k km, BMW 68k km, XUV500 12K km..all are maintained with optimum care. I usually dont repare anything in my car if it gets damaged. I totally replace it with new one, also cleaning is a daily routine, I got guys to do that regularly. Anyways, thanx 4 the help. Wish to see a good time with Vorsprung Durch Technik. Keep updating me. It is worthy 4 me. Ur valuable inputs enrich me
