Pics: Nissan Pixo spotted testing in India. Should Maruti launch this as an A-Star facelift?

Recommended Posts

This Nissan Pixo has been spotted testing in India. The Pixo is essentially the Maruti A-Star that we have on Indian roads. The car seen here had Haryana TC plates and the even the badges were covered so its quite a mystery as to what this car is doing here. However there are differences in the exterior. the Pixo gets a rear wiper, while the A-Star even in it’s top of the line ZXi spec makes do without. The base variants of the Pixo also get a fixed ‘butterfly’ type rear windows.

The front of the Pixo features an almost Maruti Ritz like headlamp unit. The grill is completely different and the front and rear bumpers of the Nissan get an additional plastic molding.

The A-Star has been around for quite sometime in its current avatar. So should Maruti launch a facelift model which looks like this Pixo. It could help garner up more sales for the car. What do you think?

It may be Datsun's other offering alongside and above K2 hatchback which is based on old gen Micra. Or it may be regular component testing for Nissan to gruel Pixo in horrible Indian coditions. One thing is for sure, it aint A Star facelift as MSIL has long back dumped all plans of revising Estilo and A Star range being bound to be phased out soon.
