Nissan launched its Grand Livina in Malaysia yesterday. This is the second facelift Nissan has introduced for its three-row 7-seat people mover since its launch in 2007.

A new set of headlights accompany the newly designed grille, which like current Nissans, has a prominent ‘V-shape’ to it. At the rear, the taillights are now profiled horizontally deviating from the pre-facelift models’s vertical layout, while the bootlid gets a redesign.

Recently it gets new feature additions like: Nissan’s i-Key, revised seat fabrics with optional leather upholstery, upgraded seat belt pre-tensioners, dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and brake assist.

In Malasiya, The Grand Livina is being offered in three variants. A 1.6-liter 105PS with a 5-speed manual transmission, the same engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 1.8-liter 126PS engine with a 4-speed automatic unit.

Prices start from 86,880RM (INR 16.83 lakhs) and extend up to 99,880RM (19.34 lakhs) for the top-end model. (Info Source: IAB)

The thing is that, If Nissan can offer Evalia in India(as a lone product on different platform), then why they can't try to launch this considering the facts favouring for it, like;

-This MPV segment is highly flourishing now a days.

-It looks great & desirable.

-It really looks an Innova rival.

-Nissan have brand image to take on Toyota.

-Hugely localized Diesel engine portfolio in the country.

Seriously Nissan needs to plan to bring this MPV to India considering its modern looks, capability & market demands. This car alone can bring them volumes enough(more than Nissan Evalia & AL Stile) to justify its local production.y

Really this car can turn fortunes for the Nissan India & bring them into the mainstream automobile player.

Looking at the above car it can surely be a winner but then Nissan has to engineer a diesel engine which should be bigger than the K9K because even in its powerful guise at 110bhp it will suffer huge turbo lag which will not good for a people carrier also with the new Terrano launching in 15 lakhs price bracket this model will cost upwards of 17 lakhs on road which is not going to undercut the Innova (which is same as no competition)

It will work well and can give competition to the Innova. But the problem is the Nissan dealer network and service which is not all great. This is a mass volume car and you need a good service back up if this has to do well.

The car looks good!! I hope that it'll be spacious and the ride would be comfortable.

And a powerful engine is a must!!

If Nissan manages to get the price right, this car can most definitely replace the Innova, provided that Nissan offers good after sales services!!

It's a long wait in India to look for any alternative for Toyota Innova.,

Here it is, Nissan playing a perfect game to get the Market chunk, I wish Nissan a great success..

If brought here soon & priced wisely..!!
